In 2015, Blue Cross Blue Shield Tennessee Health Foundation awarded Bike Chattanooga with a community grant to provide locals with free Annual Memberships as a way to encourage a healthier city. One-thousand of these Activate Chattanooga memberships were available and they sold out within eight days. Since then, locals have doubled the number of trips taken daily compared to previous years.

“Sometimes I use the system up to four times a day. It’s the most efficient way for me to get to work. Although I use it for transportation, I do enjoy the morning ride that gets my metabolism up. It prepares me for the workday.”

Buddy Killebrew, Annual Member
