New York, NY—In a first-of-its kind national campaign, Motivate, the national leader in bike share and Sanpellegrino® Sparkling Fruit Beverages have partnered to provide a series of free bike share weekends to help celebrate the launch of the brand’s new app – Delightways.

To celebrate the launch of Delightways, Sanpellegrino® Sparkling Fruit Beverages will be hosting a series of free bike share weekends in three of its key markets: New York (Citi Bike), the Bay Area (BABS), and Chicago (Divvy). Motivate will provide the wheels for a series of events and bike adventures and provide free bike share day passes in each of these three cities to bring Delightways to life for urbanites across the country.

“We are extremely excited about the first-ever multi-city sponsorship deal with Sanpellegrino—and in giving riders across Motivate networks the chance to explore bike share for free,” said Jay Walder, President and CEO of Motivate.  “Bike share systems provide an instantly-immersive experience which can help bring products to life for consumers—it creates a truly unique way to communicate with urban dwellers not just in each city, but across the country.”

“Working with such an innovative and exciting partner like Motivate really aided in bringing the Delightways app launch to life,” said Tony Vizioli, Marketing Manager of Italian Brands, Nestle Waters North America Inc.  “Bike shares offer a convenient and fun way to explore each city, which is what our App was designed to help you do.  Whether hopping on a bike or wandering by foot, we want to encourage everyone to use Delightways to wander, explore and discover all the wonderful and inspiring places your favorite city has to offer.”

In each of the three markets, Motivate will also be launching a microsite which maps out some of the best rides and attractions that can be explored by bike share. Each site features a form for riders to sign up for free day passes provided by Sanpellegrino® Sparkling Fruit Beverages.

Free bike share weekends will be available on the following dates:

The first-ever multi-city sponsorship deal recognizes bike share’s ability to reach urban consumers across many different cities simultaneously while personalizing the experience for each region. Advertising with Motivate is a way to connect a brand not just with one bike share system but with many, to magnify the impact of a single sponsorship deal.

Now that Motivate controls most of the largest and most popular bike share systems across the country, national brands are increasingly turning to the Motivate network to reach its whole network of savvy urban consumers and connect their brand to riders across the country while they do something they love.  Brands are able to leverage bike share’s ubiquitous urban real estate to establish permanent and positive associations with taste-makers nationwide.

This latest deal follows a number of major successes in securing industry-leading levels of support across Motivate’s systems over the past year—including a new collaboration with Nike in Portland, and a recent expansion of Citi’s sponsorship of Citi Bike in New York from an already-impressive $40 million to more than $110 million, securing its place as the largest bike share sponsorship in North America.  In Jersey City, Motivate was able to secure operational funding via a combination of title and founding sponsors.  Industry-wide, more and more brands including Citi, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Alaska Airlines, Hulu and Santander have made major investments in bike share programs—from London to Seattle and many places in between.
