In the News: Hubway launches a new app, provides expanded service during Comm Ave Shutdown

Hubway has gone mobile.

The regional public bicycle system launched a new app for iPhone and Android on Tuesday morning, while also announcing special prices meant to lure more people to bicycles during the Commonwealth Avenue bridge repair project that will disrupt commutes over the next several weeks.

“With major work planned for Commonwealth Avenue, our hope is that Hubway’s new mobile app can provide a convenience for Bostonians who need to find new ways around town,” said Hubway General Manager Katie O’Connor in a statement.  “If you’ve never tried Hubway before, this summer is the perfect opportunity with reduced-cost fares for this simple, enjoyable way to get around town.”
