Chicago Launches Divvy for Everyone
The City of Chicago just launched Divvy for Everyone, thanks to a $75,000 grant provided by the Better Bike Share Partnership. With this initiative, the City aims to increase bike share access and ridership among low income residents. By offering a one-time annual membership for $5 a month and waiving the usual requirement of a credit card as collateral, the program promises to bring many new riders into the fold. By enlisting community leaders and organizations to conduct exhaustive outreach across the city, Chicago will ensure Divvy is truly for Everyone.
Whether we are working with the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to offer NYCHA residents a $5/month Citi Bike membership with an annual commitment or ensuring the same quality of service and extensive coverage in every neighborhood we serve, Motivate is deeply committed to advancing bike share equity, and we are eager to see the results of Chicago’s admirable initiative.
